a bit about me:

My research centers around online communities, and identity and relational management through the use of communication and information technologies. I am particularly interested in the social and structural complexities of interpersonal communication for groups who experience stigma. In other words, I look at how stigma affects perception of self, well-being, and relationships and ways in which individuals manage their stigma within computer-mediated contexts. The goal of my research is to better understand how emerging technologies accentuate and dissipate stigmatized identities and explore ways in which technologies can create more inclusive communities.
